Infrared Sauna

Even the weather is very cold, you will feel warm on your skin under the sun.  This is an effect that the sun ray penetrates into your skin.  Infrared sauna works very much like this.  Infrared is an invisible band of light that naturally warms body muscles directly without warming the air between the source and the object.

The infrared sauna uses in Natural Path is recognized by many health professionals around the world.  It is safe and very effective in removing chemical and heavy metal toxins from the body, thus promoting health.  The heat from infrared sauna is the same as many doctors, physiotherapists and professional athletes use to treat muscle injuries and strains, as well as hospitals to warm newborn Infrarot-Wärmekabinebabies.

Infrared (Dry) Sauna vs. Conventional High Heat (Steam) Sauna

Ÿ    Infrared warms the body muscles directly, not warms the air as the high heat sauna does.  It only warms the air  to a comfortable level, allowing for fresh air ventilation.

Ÿ    Infrared sauna can operate and adjust from body temperature to 55 °C, which makes you feel like you are in a warm dry room.  But the high heat sauna usually sets the temperature between 70~85 °C with humidity over 95%.  This will make you feel humidly hot or even suffocation.

Ÿ    The high heat sauna can make worsen for some conditions, like eczema and rheumatoid arthritis.  However, infrared sauna can actually improve these conditions.

Ÿ    Infrared sauna causes profuse sweating, which leads to increase caloric consumption.  However, high heat type of sauna does not readily accept sweat release.

What temperature, and for how long should I stay in the sauna? How often should I use the sauna?

It is best to start slowly to build your heat acclimatization and to not stress your system as toxins mobilize.

Begin using the sauna at temperature setting (45 °C) with the door open and for 5 minutes. (You may enter the sauna as soon as the temperature is comfortable for your mode of dress).  Although the temperature will not reach 37 °C when the door is open, you will still be enjoying the benefit of the far infrared rays.

Start the second stage or in second session with the door closed at 45 °C. During future sessions, increase your time 3-5 minutes and temperature in increments of 1-3 degrees, as tolerated.

We recommend working up to using the sauna at 50~55 °C for 30 minutes twice a week, but it is best to consult any health professional if you are under any other medical treatment.  And like cardiovascular training, you can lose your heat acclimatization if you stop using the sauna for 2-3 weeks.

We suggest never using the sauna over 55 °C.

IR Sauna for Everybody

Infrared sauna is widely recognized by many health professionals for its therapeutic benefits.  As well, it promotes relaxation, giving you a feeling of psychological peace and physical rejuvenation.  For most healthy people, as well as for many patients in hospitals use for treatments, infrared sauna is well tolerated, effective and safe.  According to Dr. Ward Dean, M.D., army flight surgeon who has done research on physiological effects about saunas, infrared sauna does have positive effects on physiological and hormonal diseases and conditions.  It does not lower fertility in men or women with uncomplicated pregnancies, and regulate our body in a natural way.  Healthy children who are accustomed to infrared sauna tolerate it well.  (Journal of the American Medical Association, August 7th, 1981.)
